In the beginning, I was paying attention only to the results. I didn't know care about trajectory or goals.
Today, you are learning a method I use to stay on track even If I don't see results.

Understanding the problem.
Before we talk about how we fix it, we need to understand the problem we face.
For a long time, I was looking at the results.
Most people do the same.
They care about the results.
It is wrong, in my opinion. But why?
Because the results don’t show if you are on the right trajectory.
In the long run, what matters the most is the trajectory that you have.
Let’s go through an example to understand the problem better.
In school we all get grades. Good or bad.
Doesn’t matter if the grades are from a test or a project.
Here’s the catch.
You have the best grades ever.
It doesn’t matter how hard the test or the project was. You only got good grades. Not because you worked hard but because you cheated on every test.
Even if you have good grades, you are on the wrong path. Why?
You are on the wrong path because you don’t learn anything.
Let’s get another example.
You start to write on Twitter.
It has been one week since you started.
You don’t see any results and you decide to buy followers.
You will buy some likes as well.
But those followers are just bots.
The engagement is not real.
And you are not building a real audience.
You have the results, but your trajectory is completely wrong.
That’s the whole point.
Now, we understand the problem. That’s the first step.

Solution.
Here’s what works for me.

You need to understand that goals are just to maintain the direction that you are on. Goals are not the trajectory.
Let’s try to understand this together.
We want to become a salesperson.
To become a salesperson we have to take certain steps.
Steps like:
Learning how to sell
Learning how to find clients to work for.
Learning how to talk to people
Let’s understand the example.
The direction that we are heading on is to become a salesperson.
The goals are what we do to maintain the direction.
Did you start to understand a little bit?
Great. I’ll make sure you understand it at least 85%.
Now let’s see how to establish direction and goals.
When we establish direction, we establish what we want to become.
In our example, we wanted to become a salesperson.
“That’s it?“
Yes. Life is simple. Humans make it complicated.
“What about goals?“
When we establish goals, to make them efficient, we need to keep in mind 2 things:
Goals keep us on the trajectory.
We need to think like the person we want to become when we establish goals.
Let’s keep the same example with the salesperson.
Before setting goals we need to ask ourselves:
“What does a salesperson do?“
When you answer the question, take a notebook and write down 10 things that person does.
A salesperson:
Closes deals.
Sets calls.
Knows how to talk to people.
Knows how to solve problems.
Is Confident.
Is self-disciplined
Listens to people that she/he talks to.
Knows psychology.
Knows how to handle objections very well.
Knows how to sell.
I just gave you a few examples to understand how to do that.
Now that we have the list we can start to create goals.
The goals will be:
Learn how to close deals
Learn how to set calls
Learn how to talk to people
And the list continues.
Now you have a direction and you know how to maintain it using goals.
You see, I didn’t even mention a thing about results.
Why?
Because If you are on the right path and you take the right steps you will have the results after a long time.
No doubts.
You need to keep pushing because, in the beginning, you won’t see them.
