Show-Up Sunday — How To Conquer The World Like Lionel Messi
Long term > short term

Welcome to #2 of Show-Up Sunday! 👋

Reading time: 3.5 minutes
10 years ago, I was in love with football.
My favorite football player was Lionel Messi. Last year he managed to win the World Cup.
Today, you are learning the mindset that he used to conquer the world.
But, before we begin, here are my weekly recommendations.
Books.
For those of you who are struggling to find ideas for their content → Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon
Podcasts
AI is on trending nowadays so, here’s my favorite podcast about this subject → The Future of Artificial Intelligence by Alex Hormozi
Okay, let’s dive in!
If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know I don’t watch football.
Probably I'm weird but...
I'd rather work than watching watching the World Cup
I like being weird tbh 😅

*don’t forget to give me a follow.
I’m not passionate about watching, but I like to play it ever since I was 6 years old.
I loved football at that age.
My favorite player was Lionel Messi because in my opinion, at that time, he was the best. He probably still is, but I’m not up to date.
If I’m wrong, I apologize.
Today we are not going to talk about who is the best football player.
If you remember, last week I showed you how I establish direction and goals.
I’m not going to lie to you, but here’s the thing.
It’s useless to establish a good direction and goals without having a great mindset.
“Ok Savu, but what does Lionel Messi have to do with this? “
Let me explain to you why I chose him.
He won the World Cup in 2022.
Of course, he wasn’t alone on this journey.
It was the work of his team combined with his and so on.
But he did it.
And probably there are people, who still believe that he is an overnight success.
What most people don’t realize is that overnight success is not luck, is pure consistency over a long time.
As he says:
I start early and I stay late, day after day, year after year. It took me 17 years and 114 days to become an overnight success.
This quote explains it in the best way possible.
Why?
Because he showed us that we need to train our minds to think in years, not in days, or weeks.
Most people give up after 2 days of trying to write online.
Do it for 10 years and then you can start complaining about it.
(Just a quick example)
And trust me, this is a huge problem nowadays.
We need to realize 1 thing.
If we manage to establish goals and directions for a long period, we are more likely to achieve them.
The likelihood of achieving what we want is almost 100% if we can think in this way.
Imagine someone does something for 10 years constantly.
After 10 years he becomes unreasonably good at that thing.
James Clear is a great writer.
His book, Atomic Habits, has been sold for over 10 million times.
He says in its book:
“Winners and losers have the same goals. “
And this is the truth.
What differentiates the losers, and the winners?
The period they allocate for their dreams and goals.
Losers believe that achieving success takes 10 days.
Winners know that achieving success probably takes more than 10 years.
Do you see the difference?
Good.
“How can we think in this way? “
It takes time.
It won’t come overnight.
You need to train yourself to think like that and to enjoy the process and the journey.
But it is worth doing it, trust me.
Quick favor.
I don’t run ads and I try to help you as much as I can.
The only way the newsletter grows is through word of mouth.
So, if you can share the newsletter with your friends, it would mean to world to me.
Keep enjoying the newsletter!
I’ll be honest.
I don’t think that way all the time.
But I’m training my mind constantly and as time goes by it becomes better and better.
Here’s how I managed to improve this kind of mindset.
I became aware of how I perceived the period.
There are a lot of times when I’m looking at numbers and I just think that everything I do is wrong, and I will fail.
But when that happens, I become aware of it.
I’m not trying to get rid of that feeling. I’m just becoming aware of the problem, and I say to myself:
“I’m 18 years old. I have been doing this for only 4 months. I’m young and if I don’t quit, I can’t lose. I’ll keep going because results don’t matter If I constantly try to become better. “
I say this in my mind most of the time.
But when I feel that the feeling is harder than it usually is I take my notebook and I write about it.
I also take walks to clear my mind.
But these work for me.
You need to find the activities that work for you because we are all different and this is the beauty in the end.
Every single piece of information is available online for free.
But information is useless without implementation.
And you have to find a way to implement the information in your life.
Or you can pay someone to help you with that.
But not me, I don’t sell anything at the moment.
I only share with you everything that I learn along the way so you can take shortcuts and make the most of your time.
But you still need to make the effort to find ways to implement it in your life.
I would love to continue with this, but as I promised…
It will take you 3.5 minutes to read the newsletter.
Thank you for your time and don’t forget until next week:
Show up daily and make your life worth living.
Best regards,
Savu
